Introduction to Ceramics with Peter BiddulphIn this course you will learn how to use the wheel to create a variety of objects including cups, mugs, bowls, vases and lidded containers. You will also create functional or sculptural objects using the two main methods of hand building: working with rolled slabs of clay, and building directly with soft clay. You will learn about and practise all aspects of glazing and firing in the completion of your works and you will have the opportunity to exhibit your favourite pieces in the end of semester exhibition. The tutor creates work for annual exhibitions and to supply shops and galleries. He has had work selected for a number of international juried exhibitions including in Japan, the USA and the UK.
