Through a series of experimental exercises, we will look at different ways of abstracting from coastal imagery. You may find inspiration in local seascapes or perhaps from your travels. Working from your photos, I will show you my process for abstracting from nature. We will explore how to gather ideas and painterly sketches that will serve as a springboard to develop your paintings. From this process you can choose to complete your painting on heavy paper or on a canvas.
