Painting Abstracted Seascapes

Painting Abstracted Seascapes with Clare Purser - Through a series of experimental exercises, we’ll explore diverse ways of abstracting from coastal imagery. Working from your own photos, I’ll share my process for abstracting from nature, and we’ll develop painterly sketches and visual notes that become a springboard for more resolved paintings. Please bring colour printouts or images on your iPad, along with collage material such as old paintings, sketches, or printed fragments. We’ll build a collection of ideas in your visual diary, experimenting with mark making, composition, colour, and mixed media. From this process, you can choose to complete your final painting on heavy paper or canvas.
