Material Thinking: The Poetics of Process with Glen Skien blends printmaking, collage and assemblage works. The course is underpinned by the concept of Material Thinking: The Poetics of Process, whereby student outcomes are guided by a combination of intuitive and experimental approaches to printmaking methods. Participants will be instructed in a variety of print mediums including dry-point, etching, monotypes and contemporary collage-based responses. The course will focus on providing an immersive studio experience for participants to create a significant body of resolved prints that relate to personal concepts and narratives. The expectation is that students will provide a brief description of ideas they wish to explore and provide related imagery they wish to develop in their independent studio practice. This course will provide participants with a body of works of exhibition standard.
